Abia State Governor Give 40 Motorcycles To State Ministry Of Education

The Abia state Governor has given out 40 motorcycles to the state Ministry of Education to inspect schools in the rural areas which are difficult to access to ensure that they meet set standard.

Handing over the motorcycles which are to be used by the zonal and area inspectors of education to the commissioner for Education, prof
Ikechi Mgboji at the Government House, Umuahia, the Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu represented by
his Deputy said the motorcycles will help the ministry to know the state of the facilities in the schools, and ensure that teachers are alive to
their responsibilities.

He urged the Ministry of Education to use the motorcycles strictly for the purpose it is meant and not to divert them for other uses and used
the forum to commend the commissioner for Education for the giant stride he is making in the
education sector.

The Governor who said that education remains the biggest industry in the state expressed joy
that Abia has consistently maintained the first position in the West African Examination Council
(WAEC) exams for the past three years and pointed out that the state needs to do everything to sustain the tempo.

Responding, the commissioner for Education, prof Mgboji expressed gratitude to the state Governor
for supporting his ministry and assured that the motorcycles will be put to good use.
